Aneesoft Free FLV Video Converter is an FLV video converter. It can only open FLV files and convert them to a variety of other formats. The free version allows you to convert FLV files to WMV, MP4, MOV, AVI, VOB, ASF, RM, 3GP, and 3G2. You can upgrade to the paid version and get support for more formats, and for high-definition videos. Another feature that you get when you upgrade is a basic video editor.
Graphically, the application has a very plain and simple user interface, with a video player on the right, some space for your queue right in the middle, and the conversion settings at the bottom of the screen. There are plenty of conversion profiles for you to choose from, and each file on your queue can be converted to a different format. Some formats take longer to convert to. For example, MOV takes possibly twice as long as MP4.
I didn't like that whenever you start a conversion process, a window pops-up saying that the operation isn't supported by the free version. It doesn't matter what format you choose, you always get that screen. But after you tell it you don't want to upgrade, the conversion starts anyway, at least for the supported formats that I tried. At first, I didn't think the application was working, because the conversion started a few seconds after I clicked on "NO". It is a bit irritating.
